2026 Tax Strategist Cross-Border Webcast: Spring Planning Session

BDO Free CPE Webinars

April 1 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm EDT

Free 1 CPE credit

The OECD’s January 5 guidance introduces a “side-by-side” arrangement that may effectively exclude many U.S.-parented multinationals from most Pillar Two (GloBE) rules beginning in 2026—yet significant compliance and reporting obligations remain for 2024–2025 and in any jurisdictions with a Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-Up Tax (QDMTT).

Join BDO for a timely webcast to break down what’s changing, what still applies, and how the new safe harbors, including simplified effective tax rate (ETR), substance-based tax incentive, and UPE safe harbors, may reduce burden and preserve incentives—along with practical considerations for implementation, readiness, and financial statement and disclosure impacts.

Learning Objectives

  • Examine how the side-by-side approach may affect U.S.-parented groups, and why Pillar Two workstreams still matter for 2024–2025 and QDMTT jurisdictions.
  • Identify practical implications of the simplified ETR safe harbor, SBTI safe harbor, and the UPE safe harbor.
  • Describe key readiness steps, timeline considerations and U.S. GAAP enactment, MD&A, and risk factor considerations.
