An Inside Look at the Current Threat Landscape Facing the Public Sector

October 23, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Participants of the live webinar will be eligible for 1 free CPE credit.

Event details

Public sector leaders know that a proactive approach to managing risk is the first line of defense against fraud, mismanagement of resources, and disasters. Routine activities have a long-term impact for good or for bad on the well-being of an institution’s portfolio and assets under management. The same is true for an organization’s data, networks, and IT risk. Daily activities expose the organization to attacks or provide a solid front-line defense against cyberthreats. The question today however isn’t “if” your organization will come under attack, but “when,” and how you will respond. Or what’s possibly more important, how long will your network be “at risk” and how far will the threat have spread before you know?

In this webinar, we will discuss the current threat landscape facing public sector organizations and explain why it’s important to focus on the ability to respond to and recover from a cybersecurity incident. We’ll explore the implications of moving from a compliance mindset to a resilience mindset – discovering how a managed detection and response (MDR) approach to cybersecurity can combine people, processes, and technologies to provide a proactive defense and rapid response to real threats.

By participating in this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Articulate the role that continual visibility has in monitoring the health of your systems
  • Describe the risks associated with today’s cyberthreats and how “dwell time” could be a ticking time bomb for your IT infrastructure
  • Assess gaps in your current risk mitigation programs against leading practices
  • Identify what skill sets you need on your team today and what will be needed in the near future as AI and machine learning integrate into your organization

Taking a proactive stance toward your IT health is crucial, but so is having a rapid response plan. Join us to hear how leading public sector organizations are taking an integrated approach to IT security and threat management.
