CORPORATE GOVERNANCE WEBINAR – A SPOTLIGHT ON EVOLVING DIVERSITY ON THE BOARD

April 16, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Free

Participants of the live webinar will be eligible for 1 free CPE credit.

Boards of directors today represent not only shareholders, but a broader constituency including employees, customers and communities. These stakeholders expect the board to be diverse in order to bring different perspectives into the conversation. Join BDO and our guests – a corporate governance researcher and several sitting directors – as we discuss the benefits of diversity and how this is being accomplished in the boardroom.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the benefits of having diversity in the boardroom.
  • Discuss the transition in the boardroom from “former CEOs” to a collection of “subject matter experts”, increasing the opportunity to diversify the board across gender, race, ethnicity, age, and experience.
  • Explore succession planning for the board through the use of a skills matrix comparison of current board members skills and those needed to support the company’s long-term strategic plan.
