Program content The energy industry is facing increasing demand to disclose practices related to its environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities. This is largely prompted by a combination of investor inquiries and shareholder activism. The need for timely, informative and decision-useful information will continue to grow as pressure for this kind of reporting grows from stakeholders. The lack of a standardized, global ESG reporting framework adds a layer of complexity and has the market grappling with how best to communicate their ESG stories and to what extent.

During this session of our Energy Symposium, our speakers will discuss current challenges and emerging opportunities for the energy industry in the context of a changing regulatory landscape.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe the role ESG is playing in the energy landscape today and how that will evolve moving forward, focusing on trends
  • Describe how different stakeholder groups are thinking about ESG and a company’s ESG journey
  • Identify insights into the emerging legislative and regulatory frameworks for ESG reporting

Speaker: Angela Jhanji, ESG Director
Marjorie Whittaker, Managing Director – SEC Regulatory Matters
Andrew Brown, Audit Partner

Recommended Field of Study: Business Management & Organization
Program Level: Overview
Prerequisite: None
Delivery Method: Group – Internet
