Webcast overview:

KPMG LLP (KPMG) is pleased to invite you to a one-hour TaxWatch Webcast that will discuss the issues and challenges of digitization and what companies can do to navigate through their digital journey.

What is the “Other Digital?

There is a lot of discussion these days about digital notably about OECD Pillar 1 and unilateral digital services (DST) taxes. It remains important to not lose sight of the “Other” digital – one that is equally or even more impactful to most companies today and in the future. Digitalization affects all industries and is changing how companies deliver goods and service which impacts things like tax characterization, withholding taxes, and indirect taxes. More broadly speaking, digitalization is changing the ways in which value is created and a company’s end-to-end value chain, which could significantly impact where profits are earned. And every step along a company’s digital journey impacts transfer pricing.

Our panel is comprised of tax directors working through the issues and challenges of digitalization as well as Senior-level KPMG Tax professionals from our Transfer Pricing, Washington National Tax and Value Chain Management practices who are regularly focused on helping companies navigate their digital journey. The panel will discuss some of the following key concepts:

  • What is digitalization and how do I see it in my company?
  • How is digitalization effecting value chains especially in companies that are not traditional technology companies?
  • When people say “Data is the New Oil”, what if any meaning does that have from a transfer pricing perspective?
  • What are companies doing today to manage the risks and realize the benefits created by their newly digitalized value chain?
