Risky business: Assessing risks in your organization

Does your governmental organization need to take a pulse check on internal and external risks that may impact your operations but isn’t sure where to start? A risk assessment is a great option to evaluate areas with the greatest needs and highest risks – and mitigate those risks through strengthening internal control, improving cybersecurity, focusing of resources and other planning.

Risk assessments can be performed by various functions for different purposes – internal audit plan development, systems/technology evaluation, fraud assessment, enterprise risk management – but in general, similar tools and processes are used.

This Baker Tilly webinar kicks off with an overview of risk assessments and best practices for conducting a risk assessment. We’ll also discuss right sizing the risk assessment process for your government entity, how to identify risks, how to assess risk likelihood and impact, and how to develop an action plan from your risk assessment results.
