The No Surprises Act, Part Two: The Good Faith Estimate

June 14 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

MossAdams CPE Webinars

Participants of the free live webinar will be eligible for 1 CPE credit.

The No Surprises Act (NSA) protects uninsured and self-pay individuals from unexpected high medical bills that arise after receiving out-of-network treatment. The implementation of the NSA impacts health care facilities and providers.

The NSA requires providers to deliver notice and a good faith estimate (GFE) of the cost of care to uninsured and self-pay patients prior to all scheduled services. Additionally, health care providers must inform patients of the availability of a GFE and prominently post a notice about the right to a good faith estimate and that the patient has the right to dispute the bill.

Join us, along with our cohost, Foley & Lardner, for the second installment of our two-part webcast on the No Surprises Act (NSA), in which we’ll focus on the GFE. Key topics we’ll discuss include:

  • Who’s covered under the NSA’s definition of the GFE
  • Workflow processes for estimating and providing the services to be included in the GFE
  • Patient-provider dispute resolution process for the GFE and recommended documentation practices
  • Risk areas when providing the GFE

Foley will apply for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit following the program. CLE credits will be applied for in all applicable states. Foley & Lardner LLP certifies that this activity has been approved for California MCLE Credits by the State Bar of California. Foley & Lardner LLP is a State Bar of California MCLE approved provider.
