SUMMARY:Helping Clients Navigate the Employee Retention Credit Mess
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview\n\n\n\nRecent developments in Employee Retention Credit (ERC) processing and IRS ERC examinations have left many who made ERC claims in the dark as to whether or not they will receive them. Others are wondering whether they will be the scapegoat in penalties for an overreaching claim. Many CPAs and tax preparers are stuck in the middle and don’t know how to advise their clients or help them receive their claims.   \n\n\n\nThe IRS has processed ERC claims slowly and unevenly. The IRS examination of ERC claims is also mired in confusion and nuanced legal issues. Last fall\, the IRS announced a new safe harbor withdrawal process for taxpayers who have submitted ineligible ERC claims. The ERC claim withdrawal process was narrow in scope and only available to organizations that can meet all four of the IRS requirements. Questions remain for taxpayers who did not meet those requirements but may need to amend or withdraw their claim.  \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives  \n\n\n\n\nSummarize current Employee Retention Credit (ERC) qualifications and challenges.  \n\n\n\nIdentify ways to follow up on the status of an ERC claim.  \n\n\n\nAssess strategies to deal with IRS examination of ERC claims. \n\n\n\nDetermine the ERC withdrawal process and fallout from the end of the safe harbor. \n\n\n\n\nFor information regarding a complaint and/or program cancellation policies\, please contact Laura Schons \n\n\n\nReturn to Eide Bailly Website HERE. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo view the Eide Bailly Disclaimer click HERE.

SUMMARY:Tax Readiness: Business insights on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act
DESCRIPTION:The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law on July 4th by President Trump. The legislation modifies several US federal tax provisions originally enacted under the TCJA\, including the restoration of 100% bonus depreciation\, expensing for US-based research\, the EBITDA-based business interest expense limitation and others. Additionally\, the OBBBA introduces other significant changes to federal tax law\, such as the newly enacted Section 168(n)\, which establishes an elective 100% depreciation allowance for 39-year nonresidential real property that meets the definition of qualified production property. Our panelists will provide in-depth analysis of these and other provisions impacting US companies and implications on state conformity. CPE-eligible for 1 Tax credit.
