SUMMARY:Significant SALT Developments for 2024 and Predictions for 2025
DESCRIPTION:Event description\n\n\n\nAn overriding theme of the developments that we tracked from a state and local tax (SALT) perspective in 2024 related to the scope of the state tax authority. The world of administrative law experienced a dramatic shift with the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2024 ruling in Loper Bright. Also\, the interpretation of Public Law 86-272 continued to make news\, with several developments focusing on the broader issue of how much power state tax authorities may have to interpret this federal law. The ability of taxpayers to utilize the state net operating loss attribute also received considerable attention in 2024. In California\, many taxpayers are deeply concerned by the controversial chain of events that began with a decision by the Office of Tax Appeals in Microsoft\, and continued with legislation reacting to the decision\, leading to legal challenges to the legislation itself. While no state completely shifted its corporate income tax filing method regime from separate reporting to mandatory combined reporting this past year\, Colorado and South Carolina enacted significant legislation addressing standards governing combined reporting filings. On this webcast\, we will discuss significant SALT developments\, assess predictions made in 2024 and outline expected key SALT developments for 2025.  \n\n\n\nDate and time\n\n\n\nTuesday\, January 28\, 2025 \n\n\n\n2:00 PM ET – 3:30 PM ET \n\n\n\nRecommended CPE credits\n\n\n\n1.5 \n\n\n\nLearning objectives\n\n\n\nIdentify likely occurrences in the SALT world in 2025 \n\n\n\nList major state income tax and indirect tax developments during 2024 \n\n\n\nAnalyze issues faced by state legislatures at the outset of the 2025 legislative sessions

SUMMARY:Navigating the Reconciliation Challenge: Daily Process Automation Tips
DESCRIPTION:Third-party delivery service providers (DSPs)\, while helping transform the restaurant sector by boosting revenue and broadening the customer base\, come with distinct financial reconciliation hurdles stemming from inconsistencies among delivery platforms\, bank transactions\, and point-of-sale systems. This requires restaurants to devise a process to efficiently and effectively reconcile this data daily\, often involving resource-intensive reconciliations completed in Excel\, where the majority of time is spent extracting and matching the transactions\, with much less time spent on researching issues. Due to this\, many restaurants are investing in solutions that streamline and automate the financial reconciliation process. Join Forvis Mazars and Trintech for an informative webinar as restaurant leaders recount their transition from manual to automated methods and share their experiences. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n\nUpon completion of this program\, participants will be able to: \n\n\n\n\nIdentify opportunities and advantages/ROI associated with automating the reconciliation process and building a business case.\n\n\n\nDiscuss automation strategy and the biggest considerations when implementing the strategy.\n\n\n\nDescribe data bottlenecks and challenges\, and identify measures that organizations can take to prepare for automating reconciliations.\n\n\n\nRecognize the insights gained from executing an automation strategy and the subsequent steps that can be taken.\n\n\n\n\nAlso hosted by: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCPE Information\n\n\n\n1.00 CPE Credit (pending approval)\n\n\n\nOne CPE credit (pending approval) in the Accounting field of study may be awarded upon verification of participant attendance\, during live broadcast.
