International tax talk quarterly series with the EY Global Tax Desk Network – March 2026

EY Free CPE Webinars

March 10 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm EDT

Free 1.2 CPE credits

Public country-by-country reporting (Public CbCR) has moved from policy discussion to practical reality, marking a significant shift in global tax transparency expectations. The first wave of the EU Public CbCR regime now applies to calendar-year multinational groups, requiring publication of 2025 financial data in 2026. At the same time, Australia’s Public CbCR rules are also in force, applying to periods beginning July 1, 2024, with the inaugural public reports due by June 2026. With both regimes active, multinational enterprises are already navigating new disclosure obligations, evolving stakeholder expectations and emerging insights about how public reporting is interpreted across markets.

Building on this context, the webcast will take a deeper look at how the EU and Australia are applying the Public CbCR rules in practice and what this means for multinational groups preparing their first public disclosures. The session will highlight the key implementation issues already coming to light as organizations work through the operational and interpretive challenges of the new requirements, including the practicalities of collecting, verifying and presenting the mandated information. We will also discuss early lessons from preparatory efforts, outline important considerations when assessing potential exemption pathways, and examine how companies are interpreting varying regulatory language across jurisdictions in real-world scenarios. The discussion is designed to provide participants with clear insights and actionable guidance as the global transparency landscape shifts.
