Medicare Cost Report Updates for SNFs Coming in September 2025

This complimentary session will review the upcoming changes to the Medicare cost report, including detailed descriptions of the worksheets that are added, removed, and or changed.
The discussion will also highlight the various reasons CMS is updating the report and the future enhanced reporting that will be available once reports are filed.
We will also discuss what you should be changing in your financial reporting to help gather appropriate data for accurate reporting on the revised cost report.
At the end of this session, you’ll be able to:
- Recognize the purpose of the Medicare cost report, the uses by CMS, and the changes to the report for periods ending September 30, 2025 and after
- Identify potential changes in financial reporting and documentation requirements to support information reported on the Medicare cost report
- Recall how CMS may provide enhanced reporting based on expanded data on the new cost report
