During this webcast, our panel of BDO professionals will explore various tax issues growth companies encounter as they need external capital over the lifespan of the business. Topics include: 

  • Determining whether to change the business’s organizational structure in light of potential risks and opportunities accompanying expansion and investment by third parties.
  • Accounting method considerations, such as identifying methods that may no longer be available and, for acquisitive companies, harmonizing methods across the enterprise.
  • The importance of collaboration between business entity advisors and family office/founding family advisors.
  • Employee compensation and benefits issues often faced by growing businesses, including for key employees.

  • Describe potential opportunities and risks to consider when determining whether to retain the business’s existing tax structure or whether restructuring could provide benefits for the growing business.   
  • Identify accounting methods that may no longer be available as the business expands in size or through acquisition, as well as various accounting methods that might present planning opportunities for the expanding business. 
  • Discuss important compensation and benefits issues often presented by business expansions.
