As 2023 draws to a close, join Baker Tilly’s insurance specialists for our annual year-end webinar, featuring some of the most talked-about industry topics from the year. In this four-part virtual discussion, we’ll include our usual key updates on accounting, regulatory matters and new tax developments. In addition to those, we’ll be introducing new topics that have been the talk of the industry in 2023, including ways that insurance organizations can take advantage of tax credit equity investments through the New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) program and the Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETCs) program. Along with other important tax credits and incentives updates, we will be discussing the importance of implementing an artificial intelligence (AI) governance model that is appropriate for your organization. The accounting, regulatory and tax updates will include specifics on the process and benefits of undergoing a tax transformation and key updates on long-duration target improvements.

  4. Discuss today’s tax transformation landscape and ways to assess your organization’s tax function to optimize resources.   
  5. Discuss the latest environmental, social and governance (ESG) and Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA 2022) tax credit updates and how insurers can take advantage of them  
  6. Hear the latest updates on tax credit equity investments such as Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETCs) and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs), understand the benefits of implementing them to effectively manage your effective federal tax rate   
  7. Discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting the insurance industry and identify the best ways to implement an AI governance model

There are no prerequisites for this webinar, and advance preparation is not required. There is no cost to attend this webinar. A certificate of completion will be emailed to you four to six weeks after the event.
