On August 25, the U.S. Treasury and IRS released long-awaited proposed regulations on digital asset tax information requirements. The regulations impact traditional custodial brokers as well as certain decentralized exchanges and marketplaces, and digital payment processors and are generally proposed to become effective for digital asset sales on or after January 1, 2025.
