Transforming valuations: The buy vs. build tech journey

In this webcast, EY leaders will delve into technology trends with seasoned industry participants to discuss each of their respective technology journeys to meet the rising need for more frequent, more accurate and more effective valuation processes. Trends not limited to retailization, additional limited-partner (LP) scrutiny and cost considerations have triggered an increase in the frequency of valuations, necessitating the exploration and adoption of AI, data management software and advanced valuation tools for the middle and back office. Each journey is unique, but there are pros and cons of any process, and panelists will share their experiences.
Considerations for any buy vs. build strategy should consider that (i) change happens from the top; (ii) excessive flexibility will only complicate matters; (iii) adapting public market systems to private markets may not work; and (iv) knowledgeable and dedicated people are at the heart of any successful implementation journey.
