2023 year-end tax planning series: State and local tax update

The state and local tax update will explore the most current and impactful issues regarding state and local income and franchise tax nexus, as well as a general overview of state pass-through entity taxes (PTETs). We’ll discuss what activities could trigger nexus in today’s economy and the best ways to remediate exposures, in addition to key updates and developments over the past year.
Learning objectives
- Be better equipped to determine what types of business activities can create state income/franchise tax nexus, particularly in situations where there is no physical presence.
- Understand how to best remediate potential exposures, when applicable.
- Gain a basic understanding of state PTETs and their potential benefits. Participants will also hear about the most noteworthy PTET developments during the past year.
