These sessions will introduce not-for-profit organizations to federal tax energy credits and related incentives. The sessions include updates about Inflation Reduction Act modifications for how these incentives will be paid to tax-exempt organizations. Attendees can also learn about opportunities for exempt organizations to receive direct payments for investments that reduce their carbon footprint.

    You should leave this session with the ability to:
    • Explain the basic concepts of federal tax energy incentives
    • Identify activities that may qualify for energy credits under the Inflation Reduction Act
    • Review and assess factors that can maximize tax credit opportunities
    • Demonstrate how the Inflation Reduction Act has created opportunities for exempt organizations
    • Plan for converting this new opportunity into tangible benefits
  • Federal Energy Tax Credits and Incentives for Not-for-Profit Organizations (Part 2) – May 21 at 3 p.m. Eastern
    You should leave this session with the ability to:
    • Explain the basic concepts of Section 179D deductions and their related calculations
    • Identify construction projects that may qualify for tax incentives under Section 179D
    • Review and assess factors that can maximize 179D deduction opportunities
    • Plan for converting this new opportunity into tangible benefits

Who should attend?

Finance and tax leaders of not-for-profit organizations as well as individuals who oversee and facilitate an organization’s internal and external environmental impact. Specific titles include chief financial officers, vice presidents of finance, tax directors, controllers, executive directors, and chief sustainability officers.
